Purple Primer Stain Removal - CPVC PVC

Purple Primer Stain Removal - CPVC PVC

You've just finished priming and gluing up your CPVC or PVC pipes and all is looking good. Until you notice that some of the purple CPVC PVC primer dripped onto something below, such as a sink, tub or toilet bowl surface, and now you can't get the stain out. Removal of a CPVC PVC purple primer stain can be very problematic, depending on the type of material that is stained. Your best bet is to use a product called Oatey Clear Cleaner, made by the same people that make Oatey PVC CPVC Purple Primer. It will not remove the purple primer from all surfaces, but it may work for your particular instance. Also, make sure to test a small area of the stain with the Oatey Clear Cleaner before using it over the entire stain. The solvents in the Clear Cleaner can discolor some materials or give them a dull sheen. The same goes with any type of fabric that may have been stained by the purple primer.
